Dooley’s birthday is today! (4th of July) To honor such an occasion we decided that ridicule would be the best present we could give Dooley. So we dressed her up in a pink birthday girl outfit that is way to small for her and put a birthday hat on her as well.

To be honest, I don’t think she really minded wearing the outfit, but we did not leave it on her for long. The real present came later in the form of a tasty treat made out of organic plain yogurt, strawberries, and blueberries in the shape of an American flag.

Dooley is now 1 year old. I think we are going to have to start calling her a dog instead of a puppy. They grow up fast. Does anyone else think its a little strange that we are doing more to celebrate the birth of our dog than the birth of our nation? Happy 4th of July!
